First of all, 21st-century learning simply means having the knowledge and skills such as creativity, productivity, or problem-solving that will help students to be successful in their life and career. Look at the photo below to see more of the skills that 21st-century learning brings in.
Most of you would probably agree that the 21st century is the era of technology and innovation. With technological advancements, education methods and tools have also changed to adapt themselves to create a more efficient teaching and learning system. I think this was a necessary step to take because if we do not integrate technology into our classrooms, students, who will work in a technology-based workplace someday, will lack this knowledge and skills. As teachers, I believe it's our duty to equip students in the most efficient way.
Moreover, the framework added above shows that 21st-century learning aims to build skills essential for students learning. These skills can be transmitted through the correct assessments, instruction, professionalism, and a suitable learning environment for students. The question is that how can we successfully integrate technology into our classrooms to build the necessary skills? Though it might seem to be difficult to answer, the solution is simple. Teachers can achieve that by giving technology-based projects or using technological tools such as smart boards in the classroom. Instead of using pen and paper, teachers should be aware that technology is the best tool to use in the 21st century.
In my opinion, as a teacher candidate, technology and education are now inseparable.
